Organizational Development Opportunity

MMI Engineered Solutions is looking for a Human Resource professional with an educational background in Organizational Development. The person we seek will truly desire to develop others to reach their highest potential. While the primary focus of this role will be organizational development, the ideal candidate must be willing to participate in all aspects of the Human Resource function.

The Organizational Development Specialist collaborates with the Director of Human Resources in planning, developing, implementing, and administering training and development programs for all company employees. This position works cross-functionally with various teams and departments to understand training needs, skill gaps, and areas for improvement. This role also provides HR Generalist/Recruiting support to assist the Human Resource team and organization in achieving their objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Executes training and development needs assessment for staff to enhance employee effectiveness and performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.
  • Utilizes needs assessment to obtain quotes for outside training and maximize grant opportunities (e.g., Going Pro, IWTF, etc.).
  • Consults with management on performance, organizational, and leadership matters. Conducts needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee and overall company performance.
  • Collect and analyze data related to employee engagement and learning assessments, and identify challenges/opportunities
  • Become a subject matter expert in LMS administration with regards to the courses and curriculum design as well as reporting options
  • Monitor/analyze utilization and course assessment tools
  • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by modeling safe work practices
  • Identifies and incorporates best practices and lessons learned into training program plans.
  • Designs and develops HR training programs for management and employees.
  • Develops learning activities, audio-visual materials, instructor guides, and lesson plans.
  • Reviews evaluations of training courses, objectives, and accomplishments.
  • Makes assessments of the effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance.
  • Trains employees on HR issues and practices. Presents course materials.
  • Assist with employee relations issues as needed.
  • Assists with recruiting efforts as needed

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Organization Development, Organization Behavior, Industrial/ Organizational Psychology or, MBA with a concentration in Organization Development, Organization Behavior, Management Science, or related field
    • A recent OD grad with a strong organizational development/HR Generalist internship record will also be considered
  • A proven ability to successfully adapt to difficult or challenging situations or experiences
  • Demonstrated conflict management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in effectively and appropriately communicating with a variety of individuals frequently (at all levels of an organization)
  • Experience or training in designing and implementing effective training and development programs
  • Strong bias towards execution and delivery
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and a high comfort level with all forms of technology
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Must be willing to travel between company locations to deliver training or in support of Human Resource functions
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • CPTD credential, a plus
  • SHRM certification a plus
